Having teamed up with Hiber to create a virtual world for his debut artist album ‘Here & Now’ last year, as well as collaborated with CloudKid mainstay Silent Child to unveil the hard-hitting “Have My Back,” Vanic is positioning himself as one of electronic music’s brightest talents to watch. Similarly, CRÉME is garnering more and more attention from her tasteful collaborations and mesmerizing originals. Music has been a coping medicine for the Jersey City-based, multifaceted artist, helping her release emotions that drove her on a path to feeling less alone during the dark periods of her life.
Marking their debut collaboration, Vanic and CRÉME have now united for “What Did I Do,” a massive record that tells an intimate story laced with infectious vocal lines and anthemic production. In a production that takes inspiration from his older sound, Vanic combines alternative drum work and mesmerizing melodies under CRÉME’s distorted vocal lines in the verses, before an explosive and bass-heavy drop that we can’t get enough of.
“The song’s euphoric drop pushes it in new and unforgettable direction. It’s vicious and hard-hitting, where the main character of the song finds herself asking, “what did I do” to deserve this? In it, she describes why she no longer feels love or loved in this personal confession expressing confusion, frustration and betrayal,” says CRÉME.
